This is the sort of thing that makes the other cats think Joe Bob isn’t friendly (even though he IS, really he is!)

2012-03-28 (1)
Joe Bob, minding his own business on his scratcher. Corbie comes along, and he’s all “Sniff.”

2012-03-28 (2)
Then Corbie’s like “Sniff. Sniiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiff.”

2012-03-28 (3)
After some thought, Corbie is then like “Sniff. Sniff. SNIFF! SNIFF!!!!!!!!”

2012-03-28 (4)
Then Joe Bob is like “STOP SNIFFING ME ::HISSSSSSS!!!!::”

2012-03-28 (5)

2012-03-28 (6)
Then Corbie’s all “WELL.”

2012-03-28 (7)
“I NEVER.”

2012-03-28 (8)
“That kind of hurts my feelings.”

2012-03-28 (21)
Stinkerbelle has caught sight of her beloved Tommy, and has come down to stare at him.

2012-03-28 (22)
Pretending he’s not there.

2012-03-28 (23)
Gussying up in case he might want to kiss her later.

2012-03-28 (24)
“Is he EVER going to notice me?”

(For the newer readers, Stinkerbelle is our partially feral cat who pretty much lives on top of the kitchen cabinets. She comes down to eat and drink and use the litter box. She’ll let us pet her a few times, but when she’s done being petted, she swipes at us with her razor-sharp Paw o’ Doom and flounces off. She has a passionate love for Tommy and has loved him since she was a few months old and came to us in a litter of semi-feral kittens. Fred thinks she’s the most beautiful cat ever because of her blue eyes and silky fur and it’s his fault we adopted her.)

Awww Stinkerbelle is a lovely cat gotta say! Love her unique markings!

Stinkerbelle is a beauty! And so is Corbie. And Joe Bob. Despite the all the crabbiness and hissing and drama-queenesque behaviour.

So, does Tommy return Ms. Stinker’s affections?

Oh my God. You had me hooting at the first kitten tongue picture after reading Wednesday’s impromptu title. Brilliant.

Thanks! I was worried I was reaching back too far for that and no one would get it. 🙂

I remember that commercial! It cracked me up to imagine it re-done with kittens. You should slap a youtube video together and just play the other commercial’s voices over it 🙂

    love the name Stinkerbelle!
And poor Corbie getting feelings hurt. aww.
That happens to my Luna a lot. Sweetums is older by 7 yrs and sometimes has no patience for the 2yr old. She’ll be snoozing on her warm radiator and Luna hops up to snuggle or starts attacking her tail. I tend to say “leave her be!” and Luna will stop being a brat.

Hugs to Red and Scuse. What a sad story (as I kiss Red’s missing eye area). Please let us know the outcome, if you hear of it.

Love all the pics….love the babies and all the residence kitties. Stinkerbelle, I do think Tommy notices you, but you are just so gorgeous that I think he is intimidated!

Oh how I love the ribbed tops of the inside of kitten’s (and cat’s) mouths! It’s not that common of a sight!! Thanks!

I hope that someone good adopts Red and Scuse! They deserve the best after what they’ve been through!

And Stinkerbelle, what can I say? Never has a semi-feral had a better life.

omg, the Wazzup kittens – had me laughing out loud

Me too, soooo cute, and that reference YouTube had me laughing even harder!

and isn’t it funny how cats can transmit so very much with one withering look, and a response is usually a very impertinent one! probably don’t want to know what they’re sayin’.

This is when I wish you could add sound effects to your pictures. The Wazzup sequence screamed (meowed?) for sound effects! I loved those commercials and all the sequels they inspired (especially the “shalom!!” version if you’ve ever seen it).

Kisses to Corbie to soothe his hurt feelings! And pats to the “we know you are really sweet” Joe Bob! Oh Stinkerbelle – how could Tommy not know how pretty you are?!

  9. Kelly says:

Wazzuuuuuuuuuuup, Robyn? 😉 LOVE that photo series. Nothing better than itty bitty tongues and teeth… unless it’s toes and whiskers… or nosies and ear tufts… thud.

I’m going to choose to believe that Joe Bob is saying “Wazzuuuuuuuuuuup, Corbie?” in his own socially awkward way. As for Stinkerbelle, I am grateful every day that little miss semi-feral has you and Fred to understand her ways and love her anyway.

Oh how I’d love to bring Red and Scuse home to Michigan (but let’s face it, don’t I say that about every cat and kitten?) This pair looks like baby Simba and Norman… the exactly right coloring down to Red’s white tipped tail, coat lengths, facial expressions. Someone is going to get very lucky with those two!

The first “Whassup?” picture had me saying, “Guess what? Kitten butt!” to myself and giggling discreetly at work.

  11. Noelegy says:

The fourth yawning kitten (the one just after Logie) looks like s/he’s singing opera!

    1. admin says:
      March 28, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Ha – you’re right, it does!

      1. Noelegy says:

Now, for some reason, I really want someone to rewrite “Bohemian Rhapsody” with the lyrics about kitties.

        “I see a little silhouette-o of a kitty…”

Okay, it doesn’t quite scan, but Opera Kitten made me think of it!

  12. Luanne says:

Also, poor Corbs in the pic where Joe Bob is hissing at him. He looks so sad. Sweet boy.

  13. Ali says:
    March 28, 2012 at 11:30 am

…Notice how a certain little kitten is nursing in just about all of those kitten pictures; regardless of how the other kittens trade off? I think we know how Logie got to be the biggest kitten! 😉

Have to agree with Fred, Stinkerbelle is beyond beautiful…love her to pieces. Does she not warm up to ye ole cat whisperer (Fred) even a little or does he get the Paw O’ Doom too? Love the fitting captions under the Corbs/Joe Bob exchange…read through them three times laughing out loud!!!

Joe Bob, sweetheart… You know I love you, dear, but… I think Corbs, in his young immature way, is telling you that, well, frankly, your cologne stinks sweetie. It’s bad. It’s like hog rendering facility bad. It’s like sewage treatment plant bad. Try switching to something more…. pleasant. Something like.. lavender because it soothes others, or.. sandlewood because it smells manly. I’d suggest catnip scent, but that would just make them sniff you more!
Joe Bob, Joe Bob, Joe Bob Joe Boooob
Please change your cologne because you can!

Waazzzzuuuuuuuupppppp! That made me giggle and snort!

Stinkerbelle, too pretty! I hope Tommy knows of your admiration and returns it..

  16. Kar says:
    March 28, 2012 at 3:31 pm

Poor Red and Scuse. I hope that they find a better fit for their forever homes. I really hope that they can stay together, they’re so bonded after all they’ve been through.

  17. sourpuss says:
    March 28, 2012 at 6:19 pm

Ha! Love that interaction between Corbs & JB. Corbie was totally pushing it so I don’t blame JoeBob one bit!

Also, does Alice know about Fred’s love for SBelle?

  18. catdad7x says:

Logie seems to be getting lighter (in color) every day. I can’t wait to see what she looks like as she gets older. Have never seen a kitten colored quite like her. Exceptionally pretty IMO.
So Fred gets all the credit for adopting Stinkerbelle? Sounds familiar. I usually got the credit for most of our kitties. I would come home from work & find a new kitten in my wife’s lap. She would say ‘It’s up to you if we keep her’, and I would say ‘sure’ (always room for one more). Then later she would tell everyone that I INSISTED that we adopt this new kitten.
It was all in good fun though… I guess.

“…and it’s Fred’s fault we adopted her…” so there, Fred! and when JB hisses at Corbie I reckon he looks like “sh*t, better not make eye contact for a while.”
the kitten beer saga is funny – in the first photo i was going to ask why is that kitten licking the box, Robyn, but now i know it was filming a beer ad all is cool. but geez, how exhausted are the little ones once it’s done! hard work being a kitten.

PS: good luck to the brothers waiting to be adopted. may you find warmth and safety and full bellies forever in not too long at all.

Those little moufs and tongues just slay me, Robyn! We’ll spread the word about Red and Scuse, too. As Meg says, if two people tell two people, who tell two people…
