The Crate Catsbys

Daisy (female, black and white polydactyl tuxie) joined us on February 22, 2023.

Daisy’s date of birth is estimated at January 31, 2020. She was living as part of a colony in Huntsville for at least two years before her feeders brought her to Forgotten Felines of Huntsville. She was scheduled for her spay surgery, but it was determined beforehand that she was pregnant (confirmed by an x-ray which showed at least 3 kittens’ spines, meaning that she was at least 40-45 days gestation.)

She is a very sweet, friendly girl who spends her time snoozing, eating, and asking to be petted. The math indicates that the kittens should be here by March 19th (but nothing is set in stone, of course.) They will be named after characters in the novel The Great Gatsby (Daisy came to us pre-named, and rather than going with flower names (which has been done to death), we pivoted.) The litter as a whole will be known as the Crate Catsbys. Daisy is polydactyl (she has extra toes on all 4 paws.)

Update: Daisy gave birth to her kittens – 4 of them – in the evening hours of March 18, 2023. You can read her birth story here. There are 2 boys (1 black, 1 black and white tuxie) and 2 girls (1 calico, 1 polydactyl tortie). The girls are named Myrtle (calico) and Zelda (tortie), and the boys are Nick (black) and Jay (tuxie.)

Myrtle (calico, female)

Nick (black, male)

Zelda (tortie, female)

Jay (black and white tuxie/cowkitten, male)

See their weight chart here.
