Sorry if I worried anyone in yesterday’s post – I am NOT going to stop fostering, I just meant that we’re going to be sticking with one litter at a time from here on out rather than having two. We’ve got Lilia, Nolan, Owen and Patsy now, and when they’ve moved on in two months or so, we’ll get the next bunch. I’m sure there’ll be (hopefully short) overlaps in the future, but this was a long one (about six weeks) and that stresses out the permanent residents (I’m including Fred in that!) So don’t worry – I am NOT shutting down the foster room!
“Hmm,” says Nolan.
“Well, this is exciting.”
Lilia loves to stick her paws in the tunnel scratcher and poke at the kittens when they’re in the tunnel.
Nolan did not enjoy that aspect of the scratcher tunnel.
Patsy gives it a try, also finds it exciting.
Nolan’s always the last one in my lap when it’s bottle time. Such a polite young man! Meanwhile, Owen (front) and Patsy are looking at me like “Get a move on, lady. We is hungry.”
After the bottle feeding is done, Owen sometimes likes to climb up the front of my shirt and then hang there. Sometimes he belches.
“Harrrumph,” says Nolan.
Owen has a little crate time.
Patsy’s keeping an eye on me.

Just in case we suddenly have some extra food – or Churu – to hand out, Rocco is conveniently located right by the garage door so we don’t have to go too far to find him. So thoughtful!

A lap full of milk-drunk kittens. (It cracks me up that Patsy (far right) looks like she’s twice the size of the other two (Owen (left) and Nolan), when she’s the smallest of the three!)
⭐ Former foster Dahlia (formerly Hazel) is, as Tabatha said, “The most beautiful princess of chaos in the world.” And Cosmos (Monty) “What a lovebug. You can’t tell here but his face is maturing. He’s also losing that lovely pear shape he sported, as he grows.”
Which reminds me of how, when I first got them as small kittens, Cosmos would eat so much at every meal that he looked like he’d eaten a basketball as he waddled across the room! (Thanks, Tabatha!)

Yesterday Margarita & Sebastian were adopted together and went home to Kentucky, where they joined Jethro (formerly Spock) and Elly May (Janeway), who we fostered in 2023.

Lilia in full sploot, as Owen tries to figure out what’s going on. I actually hadn’t noticed before now just how dark her back left leg is. She really looks like they grabbed a few random legs off the leg pile and slapped ’em on at the parts factory.

Patsy’s being a sassy little thing, tussling with Nolan, and Owen was sitting there watching me, so I turn the phone in his direction so he can be in the video too, and apparently startle the heck out of him. He hisses… and look at how fast Lilia moves!
The tunnel scratcher has been sitting in that spot for three days and they’ve wandered by occasionally, but all of a sudden the three of them find it fascinating! (From left: Owen, Patsy & Nolan)
In case you were wondering, it looks like Jed (formerly Sebastian) and Daisy (Margarita) are settling right in. I’m glad they remember the importance of regular napping! 💤 (Thanks Tammy!)
