Annnnd more pics from before the Pickles went off to Petsmart!

Magoo and Joe Pickle are…. very very very bad boys (and they know it!)

Not only OUTSIDE, but on the FAR SIDE of the back yard! MAGOO.

Running for the back door.

Like a little kangaroo.

Run, Magoo, RUUUUUN!

“We goin’ in?”
“No, we’re going to sit here and look innocent.”

“Lady, we were minding our own business, and the door opened all by itself, and we FELL out! Now we don’t know how to get back inside, and we’re skeered!”
“Is she buying it?”
“I think so!”

Polly and Magoo, snugglebugs.

Mr. Stripey is the quieter of the two orange ‘Maters. He’s more observant. He’s also the sweetest (they’re all sweet, but he’s got an extra heaping of sugar.)

Bath time for Kohle.

He’s one purty boy.

He wears a yellow collar, so Fred calls him “Yellow”, of course.

Stripey, grabbing for Sungold, who hops out of the way JUST in time.

Maxi disapproves.

Okay. Magoo with Joe Pickle action shots? Adopt me pleeze , you so f’ing rock. No, but you have a dream life. The space you have, the climate, the tolorance from your hubby, the “f it i’ll do it anyway attitude”‘, the slight nod you give to your nor’easter roots, your care for down and out cats. I love you!

Oh you poor kitties.. come, lets get you a snack to make up for such a traumatic experience..

Is it just me or does that sidewalk make Maxi’s butt look big? Just wondering. Happy Thanksgiving to Crooked Acres and its denizens!

    1. Kelly says:
      November 21, 2012 at 7:10 am

It is most definitely an optical illusion created by the sidewalk.

      Um, she’s pear-shaped. HA.

I was going to point out that she’s on the driveway rather than a sidewalk, but you’d think that would make her butt look smaller rather than larger…. πŸ™‚

Why am I hearing “Run, Magoo, RUUUUUN!” in Jenny’s voice from Forrest Gump? πŸ˜‰

I love every photo on this page, but the one I love the most is the squinty glaring baby Joe Pickle on the sidebar. It reminds me of my favorite picture of my Henry, who is another sweet and naughty boy waiting at the store for his family to wise up and take him home.

      November 21, 2012 at 10:27 am

I made a birthday wish last night… than Henry would be adopted before my birthday (at the end of next week). In the event my wish does not come true, I asked my husband for a very special birthday present. I miss that boy more than I ever thought possible. I can give him up to another family who will love him as much as I do, but I can’t stand to leave him there. Consider Henry my version of Fred’s Magoo (and Stinkerbelle)

    2. admin says:
      November 21, 2012 at 1:04 pm

That’s TOTALLY how I heard it in my head when I was typing it. (“Run, Forrest, run”, I mean.)

And I’m torn between hoping that your Henry is adopted, and hoping that you get a Very Special birthday present!

Magoo and Joe Pickle are such HANDSOME boy cats! Even if they are bad boys. And I’m glad to see the remaining Maters enjoying their holiday from Petsmart.

Tell Kohle his buddy Chaucer is missing him. He was a lot quieter when Kohle was his roommate. I was at Petsmart briefly last night and held Chaucer and that’s all he wanted. Didn’t hear if anyone got adopted.

Awww, is Chaucer lonely? Poor baby! Kohle seems to be pretty relaxed – he certainly fits in well with the ‘Maters boys!

So I was at petsmart (Alexandria, VA potomac yards) with the wife last night. We always stop to visit the kitties in the neighborhood! We ran into this wonderful volunteer lady we always see there caring for the kitters and she let us play with the most wonderful boy ever!

    https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/530648_492489027451879_913645467_n.jpg

Maxwell (10 months) from last chance rescue at the alexandria va petsmart. If I didn’t already have three LCAR cats I’d of adopted this cat in a heartbeat. Of all the kitties I’ve met he had left such a lasting impression. That beautiful long coat was the softest thing I’ve ever pet and he absolutely loves being groomed. My wife spent about 20 minutes relentlessly brushing his hair and I had to literally drag her away! Such a sweet demeanor I can’t believe he’s been there for 2 weeks…

I have to give you major props for all you’re work Robyn. It’s gotta be so much harder than people can imagine. Especially when you go through the adoption phase. I saw a cat there last night that was 8 years old and rescued from a high kill shelter. This cat you could tell was no stray. He had to of come from a home where he spent the majority of his life. I don’t see how somebodies pet for years can end up in a kill ‘shelter’… He had so much sadness in his eyes that it quite literally crushed my heart. I was up until 2 am thinking about that sad boy and I still can’t stop thinking about it today. I almost feel at times that while your job is so rewarding, it’d make me somewhat of an emotional train wreck. I’m not supposed to be like that. I’m a man and even more so a former infantry Marine of eight years. Things like cats aren’t supposed to make me sad but it’s all I could contemplate last night. So a big thank you for all of your hard work and your emotional resilience in the caring and loving of all these cats!

One of the (many) things I love about Robyn’s site is its wonderful followers. Here’s hoping the two cats Russell met will find their new families soonest, and the same goes for all animals in need today and every day.

I agree! This little cat community is amazing and I’m glad we have a little corner of the internet to share with each other.

Awww, I love you guyyyyyyyyys! ::big internet hug::

Russell, that is one gorgeous guy you got to spend time with! I hope that he’s adopted soon – the worst part is when they sit there and sit there, unadopted, for no good reason. The one thing I love about Challenger’s House is that they always take back any cats who they adopted out. That means if someone adopts a cat and 10 years later due any reason at all they need to give the cat back, Challenger’s House will take them back.

Russell, I’m not far from that Petsmart. While I can’t adopt right now, I will certainly try to look in on those two sweethearts next week and give them some love. Or, hopefully, be able to report to you that both have been adopted over the weekend! I so agree with what you had to say about the lovely community that Robyn created…And I thank you for your service to Our Country! Happy Thanksgiving!

Does Kohle have any white patches on him? He looks so much like my Binks (lost in a house fire, Christmas ’06) that I just want to come rub my face in his fur and cry. Binks’ white patch was low on his under belly and he would cross his legs to make sure it never showed.

    1. admin says:
      November 21, 2012 at 1:11 pm

Cyndi, I’ll try to get a good picture of his belly – he has a white “bikini”, similar to Dingwall Scotty’s bikini, but Kohle’s is.. more of a string bikini, I guess. πŸ™‚ I’m so sorry for your loss of Binks, I’m sure that even these several years later, you still miss him. πŸ™

I was looking through youtube’s collection of the movie,Pitch Perfect, and love their rendition of Diggity.
Any chance of you putting your cat video’s(and your pigs, chickens, dogs, ducks)to music??
I don’t know how to do all of that techie sort of thing.

I think that’s something I’ll have to save ’til I have a lot of time to figure out how to do it. I suspect it’s not that hard – I’m pretty sure that YouTube has a way to make it easy – but I have to wait ’til I’m feeling particularly patient! πŸ™‚

Do your have any variations on Magoo’s name? I ask because it is so easy twist that cute name around. My guy is Goo, Goo-Goo, Mr. Magoogoo, Goo-bear, Quincy (The cartoon character’s first name), Maglue (when he’s being clingy), Magut (he’s got a belly), I could go on and on!
