Joining us on May 1, 2025 was this cobbled-together litter.
Black boy Monty, black girl Matilda (pink collar) and their floofy brown tabby brother Benji.
Monty, Matilda and Benji were found without a mother – they were bottle-fed by Brittany before coming to us. Monty, Matilda & Benji’s date of birth is guesstimated as 3/21/2025.
Black girl Margarita.
Margarita was found under someone’s deck with no mother or siblings in sight. She joined Monty, Matilda and Benji. Margarita’s date of birth is guesstimated as 4/3/2025.
Calico/calitabby Beatrice, who was found with her two kittens, Hazel and Nigel.
Beatrice, Hazel and Nigel were living under a restaurant sign when they were trapped. Beatrice is one of the most scared/feral cats I’ve fostered. She was spayed on May 14th, and is currently recovering at Michelle’s house. The intention is for her to have an outside home where she can live life on her own terms. Beatrice’s date of birth is guesstimated as 5/1/23.
Torbie Hazel and her orange tabby brother Nigel.
As mentioned, Hazel and Nigel were living under a restaurant sign with their mother. Hazel and Nigel’s date of birth is guesstimated as 3/27/2025.
While I was on the way to pick up all the cats and kittens listed above, someone called from a Co-op located in a rural town. They’d found two kittens – siblings, they assumed – on a truck of straw, no mother around. Michelle asked if I’d take them, and I told her I would.
Sebastian (the little one) and Clark.
When they were delivered to me, it was pretty clear that they were probably not from the same litter. Sebastian’s eyes weren’t even open, and after checking out his teeth (none had emerged yet), I aged him at 5 days old. Clark, on the other hand, had teeth poking through, and after I examined them, I decided he was 3 weeks old.
Sebastian’s guesstimated date of birth is 4/26/2025.
Clark’s guesstimated date of birth was 4/10/2025.
You can read the details in this blog post, but in short: Clark had a congenital issue that made it impossible for him to keep food down, and it was getting worse. I made the decision that we needed to let him go. He was the sweetest little guy, and I miss him.
Sebastian is currently (as of May 24th) doing very well and gaining weight and I expect him to continue to do so.
The litter as a whole is known as “The Britty Bunch” because Monty, Matilda and Benji were pre-named before I got them. Fred told me that he thought they sounded like slightly British names, and that we should name the others British-ish names as well so we could call them “The Britty Bunch,” and since I had no other ideas in mind, we went for it.
