June 26, 2009 – Pet Store Kitties.

On Friday, I covered for the usual Friday morning cleaner at PetSmart. This time, I remembered to take along my camera!

First up is Morticia. Morticia is a sweet girl who loooooves to play with the kittens. She’s affectionate with people. But boy howdy does Morticia HATE dogs. She’s been known to attack them – so obviously, she’ll have to go to a non-dog home.

Next up is Belle. Belle doesn’t much get along with other cats; she’s shy and sweet and would probably be best in a one-cat household. These pictures do NO justice to just how pretty she is, though.

When I let Belle out of her cage, one of the kittens got too close to her, and she hissed. Not a vicious hiss, and she didn’t smack at them or anything, but one little hiss is all it took. All the kittens in the room went ::FLOOF::

Remember Bessie, sister of Beulah, one of The Seven? She hasn’t been adopted yet – but she’s sharing a cage with another black kitten, with whom she gets along very well. I don’t feel TOO sorry for her, she seems pretty happy. I do wish she’d get adopted soon, though!

June 6, 2009 – Pet Store Kitties.

Yesterday morning I filled in for the Friday morning person at PetSmart, which consists of cleaning cages, scooping litterboxes, making sure food and water bowls are filled, and loving on the kitties.

Beulah was adopted on Tuesday, but Bessie’s still there – but she’s not in a cage by herself, she’s sharing a cage with two other black kittens.

There’s a glut of black cats at PetSmart right now – there was only one cat there who wasn’t black, a sweet little brown and white tabby.

Anyway, this time around I remembered to bring the camera with me, so I snapped some pictures!

This isn’t even all the black cats at the pet store – there was another, and adult, who wasn’t game to come out and play with the other cats. Bessie’s at the top of the picture, closest to the stepladder.

“Um, no, I’m okay here in my cage. I don’t want to play with those little kittens. They’re too wild for me!”

“Who, me?”

Shiraz. She’s a super-sweet, talkative little thing.
